So the soft gel tips are thinner…are they also more flexible? Because I feel like the glue on tips don't contour to the curve on my nails very well. The pressure of the curve on the hard nail tip pulling at my nail bed, has actually super messed up my nails. It's taking months for the nails to grow out so the damage doesn't show anymore. ๐Ÿ˜• If the ones you are going to have are flexible, I will definitely LOVE that.

I've been using glue on nail tips from Red Aspen, because I like that they already have a base color to them. And if I mess up the stamping, I can take it off with nail polish remover and I won't have to start all over. ๐Ÿ‘

I do love that grey! The green is also gorgeous but that is the perfect shade. When I think of grey.. that's exactly the shade that comes to mind ๐Ÿ’š๐Ÿค๐Ÿ–ค๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’…

I love maniology products and have been using them for years. They are my go to brand for nail stamping products. So I say this with much love. I adore the smudge free top coat for stamping and nail art. But with foils, it gets a thumbs down.

I have been using foils now for a few years ( regular nails, not fake ones ). I have found that each time ( regardless of name brand ) maniology's smudge free top coat will dull or fade any of the metallic, glitter, or holographic foils. Even if I let it dry over night, the cloudiness doesn't fully go away. The foils are always dulled or faded. As if I had added a matte top coat over top. Maniology's smudge free will work in a pinch, but I have stopped using it with metallic, glitter, and holographic foils. Other foils like marble, flowered, or just non shimmery foils work fine with the smudge free.

About a year ago I saw several youtube videos by creators who were having the same issue. They suggested to start using UNT "ready for take off" peel off base coat over the foils. It works amazing. I have used foils as a base and stamped with it ( using a sticky stamping polish or a foil stamping polish ). The Unt does not fade, crack, or dull the metallic or holographic foils like the maniology smudge free one does.

I have tested it a few dozen times with 8 of the most popular foil brands. Many times I will even do one hand with unt and one with maniology smudge free just to compare the results. The maniology one is still pretty, but much more matte, faded, and dull compared to the UNT hand.

Plus the benefit of using the UNT allows you to add a top coat of your choice, over top of the manicure. That seals everything in and allows the manicure to last longer. If I add any top coat over maniology's smudge free top coat, the foils tend to crack and break apart. It fades even worse and sometimes dissolves completely.

There are some really wonderful videos on youtube from many talented creators. They have done comparisons with several smudge free and water based top coats with foils. For the price and performance, I always go back to UNT. ( sorry, but just being honest here. I use my smudge free for everything else though!! )

Keep in mind these are using regular polishes. Gel nail polish, gel foil glue, and gel top coat will not fade or dull or crack apart foils.

I learned in my color theory class in college that chartreuse is actually the most visible color in low-light situations, which is why we often see it used on construction sites and road signs.

Lol so 096 โ€” misprinted to say โ€œOLOGYโ€ at the bottom? Noticed it on Zenstampingโ€™s unboxing video so came here to see if it was a fluke ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™m so excited for the foils! I canโ€™t wait to play around with them! I have some more fun ideas for my birthday nails now! Iโ€™m super excited for the nail tips too! I did have a question about those though. Since they are a soft gel, does that mean you have to use a gel to apply them or would a nail glue work as well?

Iโ€™m glad I watched this unboxing. I was on the fence about this box, now Iโ€™m 90% sure Iโ€™m going to get it. The foils are beautiful Ava some of the plate designs are giving me 80s vibes, which as an 80s kid I love.

I was going to pass on this month's box, but you ladies are giving me the FOMO! I do have a question about the foils; if you just use the smudge-free top coat, will the mani not last as long. Is the smudge-free topcoat waterproof? I always use a quick dry top coat over it.

I've always wanted to play with foils but I've never understood them
I got a bit of foil from one site I bought one of my earliest stamping plates from (don't remember from where though), it's a very light holographic one but I've never had foil glue and I didn't have the smudge free yet (which I do by now ๐Ÿ˜Š) I never understood which side of it was supposed to go on the nail, so it's still feeling lonely in it's corner in my "nail salong"…which is my kitchen table ๐Ÿ˜
