Excellent video! Thank you to Yesstyle for sending you the products to try out for us. Please keep us notified of that Unscented Toner because I know many people rave about that product but I'm still on the fence about whether I should buy it or not and I trust your advice. I also wish that brands would stop putting citrus oils in products, especially sunscreens!.

The Klairs SPF is the most beautiful feeling sunscreen I’ve tried to date, and I’ve used many korean and Japanese sunscreens. Sadly it wreaked havoc on my skin and I believe i may have been sensitive to the essential oil or niacinamide, but I REALLY wish I could use it every day. I’m really curious to try the purito chemical spf in the new Unscented version because it has the new chemical UV filters and lots of centella. From what I’ve heard that one is very similar to the Klairs but just more moisturising.

I love Korean and and J beauty and use it along with Deciem skincare and nothing else. The blue cream and blue drop gets it colour from the Camemille 💐 I believe. Klairs EO free skincae are all solid, My fave brand this month is Pure Heals, Centella does reallllly well on my skin and so does mugwort, I’d recommend Hangul mugwort essence. I’ve been using them lairs and the purity EO free spf for a while, the EO free version is fairly new. Super interested to see you go down this rabbit hole, see you in there 🥳🐰

Could you please do a video on 'favourite' chemical sunscreens? Most of the high street ones I try sting my face, so I stick to physical, but I wish I could access the thinner textures of chemical sunscreens X

Try Pyunkang Yul products. They’re all fragrance free and very very gentle. Their ATO moisturizer is the only one that I can use when using tretinoin.

In my honest opinion, I think that manufacturers should only stick to these 14 filters, cause they are the best and more modern UV filters.

    1. Tinosorb S
    2. Tinosorb S Aqua
    3. Tinosorb M
    4. Tinosorb A2b(Tris Biphenyl Triazine)
    5. Uvasorb HEB
    6. Uvinul T 150
    7. Uvinul A Plus
    8. Ecamsule(Mexoryl SX)
    9. Drometrizole Trisiloxane(Mexoryl XL)
    10. Parsol SLX
    11. Amiloxate
    12. Neo Heliopan AP – Bisdisulizole Disodium (UVA)
    13. Zinc Oxide
    14. Titanium Dioxide

I think manufacturers should stop using these old outdated filters completely

    1. Avobenzone
    2. Homosalate
    3. Octisalate
    4. Octocrylene
    5. Octinoxate
    6. Octocrylene
    7. Oxybenzone
    8. Ensulizole
    9. Helioplex(Avobenzone+Oxybenzone combination held by Neutrogena)
    10. Dioxybenzone
    11. Meradimate
    12. Sulisobenzone
    13. Trolamine Salicylate

The most controversial/banned UV Filters are these ones:

    1. Cinoxate
    2. Aminobenzoic Acid
    3. Padimate O
    4. Enzacamene

Although the UV filters in the US are becoming more and more controversial cause their molecular size is so tiny that they can easily penetrate into our bloodstreams whereas newer filters were developed with larger particle size.

Ecamsule or Mexoryl SX has been shown to get absorbed into our bloodstreams, I don’t know about Mexoryl XL though.

The most powerful UVA filter though is “Tinosorb M” it’s hands down THE BEST, it also works for UVB rays I think but I’m not sure if it covers the full range of UVB, but it’s UVA protection is exceptionally good compared to all other filters, the reason why you don’t see it very often in sunscreens is because it does leave a white cast cause it’s not a purely chemical nor purely physical/mineral sunscreen, it is actually a hybrid, and I believe the only one out there. And yes I know that technically both Titanium Dioxide & Zinc Oxide are chemicals but you know what I mean, I am referring to the mechanism at which they work to protect from UV rays. Second best UVA filter is “Tinosorb S Aqua” which is a more lightweight version of Tinosorb S that also offers better protection closer to that of Tinosorb M

Uvinul A Plus is often thought of as Avobebzone’s successor and although it’s peak protection is slightly lower than Avobenzone, it is far more photostable whereas Avobenzone starts degrading very quickly & certain ingredients can be used to boost the protection of Uvinul A Plus, honestly it almost performs as well as Avobenzone does when it is applied right at the beginning, it’s more photostable and can easily be boosted by using certain ingredients like silicones, emollients & many other ingredients that boost UV filters

Lol you’re very funny, yes actually I thought the same about the klairs soft uv airy finish, that i could barely smell the fragrance & that it very faint but the moment i started heavily shaking the bottle and then applied the sunscreen again, I could REALLY smell the fragrance & that’s when it started irritating my skin, I shook it cause I was concerned that maybe the UV filters had to be dispersed to get the protection factor on the label. Regarding the UV filter you were referring to as “Uvinul T” it’s actually called “Uvinul T150” it is a UVB only filter, very effective & very photostable, is it currently the second best UVB only filter in the world with “Uvasorb HEB” being the absolute best & most powerful in terms of both protection & photostability, but both are excellent choices!

I have stopped buying "expensive" skin care. I just keep an eye on the promotions in Aldi & Lidl and get my skincare there. Of course I look at the ingredients!!! But they do nice things and it doesn't break the bank. I have a hyaluronic serum from them that is amazing it really is!

I really like the price point for K beauty when you look at the ingredients. I shop by ingredient no matter which country of origin, as I have eczema/sensitivity and aging skin. My favorite brands are Pyunkang Yul, Klairs (the newer fundamental line is fragrance free) and some products from Puritto (including puritto's sunscreens). Other brands I like are Soon Jung, Illyoon, Neogen, Sioris, Rovectin and kosmetic immunity by J Kosmmune. There are also UK websites dedicated to K beauty which means you get your parcel within a few days, if you don't want to wait – both beautyandseoul and skininsider have been very good for me. Yesstyle can be cheaper but delivery takes around three weeks (free delivery anyway). I buy fragrance free skincare so you should find products you like from these brands. Hope that gives you a few suggestions as yesstyle's website can be a little overwhelming as there is so much available there. Best wishes.

I've been looking for this website for months. I came across it and loved it and then somehow cleared my history and couldn't recall it at all. ( Old age) So thank you so much for the review and reminder.

Hi Karen! Thank you for this video! I love Korean skincare. I have been using Klairs Midnight Blue Cream and Klairs Toner for quite a long time and I love them! My recommendations: Benton brand, especially Aloe Propolis Gel and Snail Bee Essence; Cosrx Galactomyces Toner – really nice and soothing; Klairs Freshly juced Vitamin Drop (has a tiny bit of essential oil) but I really like using it 🙂

I love YesStyle I live in the USA and sometimes the wait is a long time but that’s okay. The samples are nice. Also the prices are very reasonable. The more times one orders from YesStyle they give you better prices. I order my cotton pads for my face care from there. The selection of cotton pads is huge. Also if you are in a hurry for your order you can pay attention to what you are ordering because it tells you if it will ship soon or if there’s a wait.

The cleary is the herbal smell, it’s a sage plant.

Hi Karen. Thank you for this review 🙂
I've been contemplating ordering from Yesstyle for a while now. The only thing stopping me is the fact that I believe I'll have to pay customs when the parcel gets to the UK. And it can be almost as much as what I paid for the whole order. Can you please tell me what your experience was like ordering from them before.

I love yes style – prices are always great and what a range! The only thing I hate is how long it takes to get your products. I ordered a haul on the 10 Dec and its still not shipped! Be careful when ordering the product will say "usually ships within 2/7/21 etc days. Asides from that I love them, great discounts and money off not to mention ive never paid for shipping. Thanks Karen x
