    oil slick is technically different from peacock, like you said, peacock is purple blue and green, while oil slick is more meant to look like puddles in a parking lot, with the darker muted rainbows over deeper dark colors

    I absolutely love this and your tutorial! You make it seem so easy. It looks like you used bleach, but avoided the roots, which is a good idea. I fear my hair would fall out if it did. I’ll let you know how mine turns out. Thanks!

    The difference is that "oil slick" is dark and "peacock" is bright. Also, "peacock" are mostly teals, greens, blues and browns. There is very little – if any – purple in peacocks. But, sure, people can call anything anything they like.
