YAS!!! Thank you! Just watched a tutorial and she was like "add a lot of highlighter." I was like b*tch we DIDN'T HAVE highlighter in the 80s, we had frosted eyeshadow if we were lucky! The 90s brought us glitter but mainstream (non MUAs) only got highlighter in the late 2000s. Thank you for an ACCURATE tutorial! ❤️

This was great. Real girls didn't wear that much eye shadow in daytime but blue and purple were very popular. Pink lips as well. I am a redhead so I never wore those colors but I did limit myself to so called " redhead" colors. Molly Ringwald kind of thing. I graduated high school in 1991 so I like the 90s looks much better. I think I am still stuck in the 90s sometimes so I watch all these videos to get ideas. Thanks

I was in my late teens/early twenties during the 1980's and I can "hand on heart" say that I've never seen anyone on "the street" wear this look.
Yes, on TV by Madona, Tiffany, over-made up media people, etc., (where you may have found your info).
I wore : greens, golds, browns and black. I was even doing halo eyes back THEN!
I was a secretary by day and a nightclub bar worker at weekends (at a VERY famous UK club) and nobody wore anything like this in either positions.
Sorry, I'm not being picky, it's just, I wouldn't like the younger generations in the UK thinking this was the norm.
PS: I was a Punk in the 1970's, 😅😅. xxx

    OH LORT

I remember being SO CHUFFED in 1983 when I found a compact with an array of the perfect parakeet-colored eyeshadows, which I proceeded to apply in unblended vertical stripes. I looked like David Bowie blew up. Plus I had hair that required its own photos because it didn't all fit in photos with me. It was like a Stealth bomber had a tawdry affair with a cotton candy machine. But you NEEDED that huge do to balance the 14 layers of shoulderpads; I guess we preferred looking like linebackers in drag rather than looking like ticks (tiny head/ginormous bodies).

Sunscreen wasn’t a thing in the 1980’s. I remember my aunt using baby oil mixed with iodine to get a tan. I also remember huge hair & the hideous mullet worn by men and women alike. (ugh😑)

Ha! Memory lane! Of course there was also a trend (at least in the Midwest from about 86-88 where girls would get tannish/orange foundation to make them look tan. But they never did the neck so there was a stark line. Hehe I actually wore colors galore—fun!

Good job on the 80s Madonna look. 😄👍🏼 I remember going into the girls bathroom before school started and seeing the girls burning black Mabelline eye liner (red pencil) and passing it around like a joint. 😂 Not healthy.
