Welcome to my look at self tanning lotion. I have used the Jergens Natural Glow line of self tanners for years. I find Jergens is a great self tanning lotion as it is an inexpensive drugstore product which is easy to use.

Personally, I really like two out of three of the Jergens self tanning lotions, as I will explain in the video. Jergens sent me their newest product to review (Jergens Natural Glow Wet Skin Moisturizer), but the opinions expressed are my own. Thanks for watching my video on Self Tanning Lotion!

I absolutely love this product! Most if not all of the claims are true! This is my second season using it. I find it to be the easiest of self tanning routines! It is the only one I use! I have used the Jergens natural glow daily lotion before with good results! Thank you for sharing!

What a great review! I will try this product for sure. I do like my Malibu self tanner, and L'OrΓ©al Self tanner, but am always looking for new ones! Great review.

I'm pretty sure we don't have this particular Jergens product here in Canada yet; it's currently not on their Canadian website. Strangely, things usually take longer to launch here! It doesn't really matter in this case, for me, because I don't use self tanners, nor do I tan naturally either. I am so white that even the lighter shades of self tanners look unnatural on me; they are often way too orange on me as I have a 'Winter' blue-toned, or pink complexion. As far as tanning in the sun, prior to discovering how dangerous it was, I usually only burned with any sun exposure, and now we know that several bad childhood sunburns are a significant risk factor for developing skin cancer in the future. Since 1985, I've chosen to 'embrace my paste', and honour my porcelain complexion! Dealing with self tanners looks like it requires a fair bit of skill (that I don't have), as well as an exceptional amount of time, that I'm not willing to use up, just to stain my skin to make it look like I tan!I nursed a fair number of young patients who had been diagnosed with the deadliest form of skin cancer, melanoma, and the horrible treatments they endured, and the poor prognoses they had, turned me off anything to do with suntanning, and even the products that are now used to safely achieve the look of suntanned skin. I do agree that self tanners, and professional spray tans are a necessary, and safe alternative for those who continue to want a tanned appearance, if it stops them from tanning in the sun's dangerous UVA, and UVB rays, however. It's just not for me! Great to see you; sending my love, and hugs, Beth, Sherrey.πŸ’•

Beth, I am very fair so I use the lotion in fair/medium . I love this stuff

I use 5 decent pumps of the Jergens and 7 pumps of my body lotion. I mix it all together in the palm of my hand really well. I then spread it out on my body… I put it on my thighs, calves, forearms, upper arms. I take great care in making sure I evenly spread it and take time rubbing it in. I stay away from my ankles, feet/toes, back of my ankles, knees, backs of my knees, elbows, and crease of my arms. I first rub it in on all those main places I mentioned, then when its all rubbed in but still damp I start to spread it to my ankles, feet, knees, and all the rest.

When done with those areas I wash my hands. I then take a damp washcloth and lightly go over my toes, feet, ankles, knees, elbows, and all the areas and buff the cloth into those areas as I do not want the lotion to get a chance to gather in those areas. I make another small batch and mix it into my hands and do my chest, light application on the underarms, tummy, rump, and hubby does my back. Again, wash my hands, and use damp cloth to buff the areas where it can gather.

I've had so many compliments on my "tan" (cough). Are you kidding me I am a like a vampire when it comes to that sun. I wear hats, SPF, sunglasses… it is just fun letting them think its a real tan.

PS: how is the Retin-A going? My skin has finally accepted that I will not stop using it so the good news is … I WON! πŸ™‚

I love a soothing bath right before bed, so I do use this at night. I put it on totally wet skin then pat it dry. I have been amazed at how even and streak-free this is. I use the light shade about three times a week to maintain a lightly tanned look.

Hi Beth, I've been using this for about 6 months or so and really like it. I use light one though and use it all over taking it all the way up to my jaw. I just recently got the darker one and use that once a week so I can go a bit darker and then use the light the rest of the week to maintain it. I agree that you want to make sure that you cover all areas so I pretty much go over all the areas once and then quickly 2 more times just to make sure I don't miss any spots. Then I make sure to get the back of my hands and use my towel to wipe between my fingers to get any of the lotion out of there because it will show up there. I wouldn't use this on dry skin at all, just freshly washed skin.

The one thing I didn't hear you mention though is that this is a great moisturizer too so that there isn't a need to follow up with any lotions or creams when you dry off. I love that it saves me that step and I don't have to wait for any lotions to absorb or have anything leave a sticky feeling on my skin. I'm pretty sure I included this in one of my favorite videos at the beginning of the year too. One word of warning since you mentioned that you used it on your arms…be careful around your feet when you apply it. If you have dry skin on your feel or need to exfoliate them and put this on, as the dead skin comes off so will your tan! I make sure that I get all that dead skin off and let it dry really well before even putting on shoes (a hair dryer helps) because your shoes can rub it off your feet too and give you an uneven application.

Great review and I hope you have a fun vacation!

Think I'll try using the tanning glove and see if I get a more even color,. Applying with my hands I noticed streaking where I guess I didn't get it on evenly.

Great review. I have a problem with self tanners because my arms and legs are freckly and they just seem to turn the freckles darker and make them more apparent. So I think I'll try it on my legs first. I don't wear shorts anymore, so no one will know but me, and well, my husband πŸ™‚ Hope your re-cupe is going well. Laurie

    HI Beth,
I am not a tanning person either, when I was younger yes, I loved a good tan, but now I am paying for it. I cover everything with sun block now πŸ™‚
    Great review

Beth – I have never used Self Tanner and my skin "is white As a snakes belly" as my mom would say. LOL. I think I will give this a try. I recently found you and am enjoying the ones I have seen. Love your necklace today too. Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day. May we pray for those who are serving for our freedom.

I tried this product on my legs after watching Kristinn321's video a while back. Didn't care for it. To me there is nothing like the real thing but we all know that's not good for us. So me and my pale self just grin and bear the untanned look. Happy 4th!

"Be where your feet are." I love all of your encouragement! 😘 So inspiring! I am a mixture of skin tones so when its summer weather I like to even up with a tanner…however, I am impatient and lazy. lol I like Vita Liberata phenomenal 2-3 week tanning mousse the best. Quick to dry, no sticky mess, beautiful color, no stink and it lasts the longest and fades without detection. 😊 Oh and no oompa loompa orange! lol tanners have improved a lot since I was a kid and my Mom tried QT Tan. Anyone remember that one?
    Have a great day! πŸ’•xoxo~Mimi
